Maintain the Health of the Spa with Proper Water Chemistry |
|
Water chemistry of the spa is just that. The correct balance of the pH neutrality will prevent equipment failure and ensure good health for your spa. The pH scale is 0-14 and you want to avoid acidity and keep your water potential Hydrogen between 7-8 which is neutral pH and slightly alkaline which is good for the spa. This can be easily done by increasing the pH with Sodium Bicarbonate and checking weekly.
This can be easily done by increasing the pH with Sodium Bicarbonate which is Spa Up, pH Increaser or simply Baking Soda. Check the pH weekly because this measurement changes slowly however, the pH does decrease consistently.

Maintain the Health of Who is Using the Spa |
|
A Spa and Hot Tub is like a big human washing machine that you leave the water in for about three months. This is just fine and dandy as long as the water remains free of bacteria that can affect the users. By maintaining water chemistry with the proper "available sanitizer" the water will always be safe and clean.
Always check the chlorine or other oxidizer with a test strip or kit prior to use and add an amount to get the test reading to the prescribed level. This level should not be detected by smell or feeling. Chlorine only needs to be the same as tap water which is between 2-5 parts per million for clear and clean water.

Maintain the Plumbing Components of the Spa |
|
The plumbing system consists of the filters, pump, heater and the pvc pipes that connect it all to the hydrojets.Many components, relays, sensors and other devices need to be protected from corrosion and organic build-up. Variations exist from original water conditions and require different treatment.
The main consideration in this system is the filter that controls the liquid flow and pressure which activates the components. The filter must be kept clean so the flow is not restricted. Simply clean your filter every three months.

Maintain the Condition of the Spa Equipment |
|
The spa equipment is normally very complicated and only trained and experienced technicians should approach the equipment compartment. The process to determine a malfunction in the operation of a spa should be done with a series of multi-meter line diagnostic checks to isolate the specific default and avoid unnecessary replacement of components that are not defective.
Most warranties stipulate that only spa trained technicians are authorized to work on manufactured products.

Spa & Hot Tub Replacement Filters
Water filtration when applied to Spas & Hot Tubs provides for particulate removal of debris and other organic material that can be trapped in the pleats of the filter. This filtration allows the water to be clear and clean and protects the equipment from larger materials that could jam or clog the pump and equipment.
Filters also remove body oils, lotion & makeup which tends to clog the filter and prevent proper flow of water through the pleats to satisfy the flow required for operation. Special filter cleaning agents are available to degrease the filter and pressure wash the filter clean. Filters generally last 2-3 years and should be cleaned between 1-3 months depending on the use of the Spa. Bacteria in water is controlled by the sanitizer chosen to treat the water.
Filters don't kill bacteria, the sanitizer treatment does and should be maintained and checked frequently. |
